Rhine falls
Feel the spray of the most powerful waterfall in Europe at the Rhine Falls! Its natural beauty will overwhelm you with its fairytale castle, lush greenery, rapids and white foam of the splash! The Rhine Falls are located on the High Rhine near the small village of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and the charming medieval town of Schaffhausen in Northern Switzerland. With only a 40-minute drive from Zurich, it’s easily accessible to visit and is perfect for an exciting day out. Get up and close to the cascading water by standing on viewing platforms or going on boat rides. Laufen Castle sits majestically over the falls and has a glass panoramic elevator for amazing vistas too.Enjoy spectacular views all year round and be hypnotised by the roar and vibrations of the water falling from 23 metres. Look out for the gigantic rock jutting out in the middle of the falls! Walk around the basin of the fall and breathe in the fresh Swiss air (look out for the yellow signs!). The route will take you over the train bridge and near Wörth Castle with its panorama restaurant that hangs over the water. Don’t miss out on Rhine Falls at night as they are illuminated after dark. Listening to the sound of the falling water in the darkness is a thrilling experience!
